What Ascend Odyssey holds about you, why, and how to get it back or get rid of it.

This is a statement of practice, not a finished legal document
What Ascend Odyssey never asks for
Your game password. Not for any feature, not on any plan, not ever. Ascend Odyssey does not need one and there is nowhere in it to put one. If anything claiming to be Ascend Odyssey asks you for a game credential, it is not us.
Ascend Odyssey also does not ask for your real name, your address, or your phone number. It does not need them.
It does ask for your date of birth, once, when you create an account. That is a change from what this page used to say, and the next section explains what it is for.
What Ascend Odyssey holds
Only what an account needs to work, and only what you gave it:
- Your account. Your email address, so you can sign in and recover your account. A password, stored only as a one-way hash and only on deployments that use Ascend Odyssey’s own sign-in rather than a managed identity provider — the original is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash. Your sign-in sessions, your time zone, your reduced-motion and notification preferences, and a record of security-relevant actions such as a password change.
- Your date of birth. It sets a minimum age for an account, and it decides what your account can reach in the parts of Ascend Odyssey where people can see each other. It is never shown to another customer, and nothing else is worked out from it.
- Your display name. Required, and unique across accounts. It is the one value here that other people are meant to see — everywhere Ascend Odyssey shows you to somebody else, it shows this and never your email address.
- What you are working toward. Your goals and their steps, what you told Ascend Odyssey you are here for, and your per-profile preferences. All of it free text you wrote.
- What you have recorded. The sittings you planned and ran, what you marked done in them, every entry in your progress history, and the amounts behind a goal’s pace.
- The things you own. The gear you listed, the setups you built from it, and the conditions you put on anything you are still missing. Labels you typed; Ascend Odyssey holds no item catalogue to check them against.
- Your profiles and characters. The profiles you create, whatever you label them, and any character name you entered along with the names it replaced. Free-text names you chose; Ascend Odyssey does not check them against any game.
- What Ascend Odyssey sends you. Your notifications, and any recommendation it produced together with whatever you said back about it.
- Anything you asked the AI. Your side of a conversation and the model’s, kept so the conversation still reads as one. See who else touches it.
- The closed beta. Your membership, the invitation that let you in, and any feedback you sent — including the part staff wrote back about it internally, which is not returned to you.
- Safety. Anyone you have blocked, any report you filed about somebody, and anything you post where other customers can read it. The parts of Ascend Odyssey where that is possible are switched off today; these records exist so that the controls are ready before the surfaces they protect open.
The export is the complete answer, and this list is a summary of it. Anything Ascend Odyssey holds about you comes back in one file, whether or not a category above happens to name it well. Take a copy.
Ascend Odyssey currently reads no data from any game. There is no import, so nothing about your in-game account reaches Ascend Odyssey unless you type it in yourself.
Payment
Ascend Odyssey is not taking payment. When it does, card details will be handled by the payment provider and Ascend Odyssey will never see or store a card number. What Ascend Odyssey keeps is which plan you are on and when it renews.
Product analytics
Ascend Odyssey records how the product is used so it can be improved — which steps people abandon, which features go unused. This is enforced rather than promised: a property allow-list drops anything that looks personal at the point an event is created, before it can leave the process, and a lookup failure drops the event rather than sending it.
Ascend Odyssey does not do, and has no code to do, any of the following:
- Session replay, mouse tracking or scroll heatmaps.
- Cross-site or cross-device tracking, or advertising pixels of any kind.
- Inferring or storing demographics.
- Selling your data. Not in aggregate, not anonymised, not ever.
Declining analytics degrades nothing. Time-on-page is deliberately not treated as a measure of success, because a product that rewards keeping you on the page is a worse product.
Getting your data, and getting rid of it
Both of these work today, from your account settings, without contacting anybody.
Export. Ascend Odyssey assembles everything it holds about you into one file and gives you a private, time-limited link to it.
Deletion. You have 7 days to change your mind, and signing in during that window and choosing to keep your account cancels it. After that, your account and everything attached to it — profiles, characters, preferences, sessions, notifications, subscription records — are removed.
A few records survive with the link to you removed rather than the row: billing events, the security audit trail, and analytics events. These keep what happened and stop recording to whom, which is what lets Ascend Odyssey account for its own history without holding onto yours. A deletion whose scope is unstated is indistinguishable from one that did nothing, so the exact list is published rather than summarised.
Who else touches it
Ascend Odyssey runs on infrastructure it does not own — a database host, an application host, an email sender, and a payment provider once payment exists. Which specific companies these are depends on how a given deployment is configured, and they will be named here individually before Ascend Odyssey launches publicly.
One feature can send text to an AI provider: when you type a goal in your own words, Ascend Odyssey can ask a model to read a target out of it. That happens only on plans that include the feature and only where a provider key is configured. Neither is true of the closed beta, so no goal text leaves Ascend Odyssey today — and if that changes, this paragraph changes with it.
The rule for when it does is already fixed: providers must not train on Ascend Odyssey data, and account data is stripped of anything the task does not need before it is sent. What is sent is the sentence you typed, wrapped so the model is told it is text a player wrote and never an instruction.
Questions about any of this
Email support@ascendodyssey.com and a person will read it.
Ascend Odyssey is small and there is no support rota yet, so there is no reply time to quote you — quoting one would only be a promise to break. Include your account email and what you were doing, and skip anything sensitive: no password, game or otherwise, is ever needed to help you.
